I highly recommend that the facilitators at your camp get specific training in order to run the North Star Girls Group Program. It is not imperative that facilitators have a specific education degree in order to run a North Star Girls Group, but training on the program, adolescent developmental issues, and group work is strongly encouraged. One of the most critical aspects of the success of a North Star Girls Group is the facilitators who will be leading these groups. Ideally, there should be two facilitators for a North Star Girls Group with 8-10 girls. It is less ideal, but there can also be groups run with 6-7 girls by one facilitator. Facilitators of a North Star Girls Group should be female camp counselors who are interested in the program and passionate about issues related to girls.
